Description: Imagine the vibrant, glowing effect of a stained-glass window, scaled down into an piece of wearable art. That is the magic of plique-à-jour —a classic enameling technique where transparent glass is suspended within an open metal framework. In this class, you will learn to pierce and saw an intricate design from sheet metal, creating an openwork frame. From there, you will learn how to apply enamel and fire the piece to create a luminous window of color.
Materials included in price: Silver stock, 18” sterling chain, translucent enamels in various colors for use and consumables. Note: should the market price of silver rise above $75/ozt, a surcharge will be imposed.
