15-7 Pyromania - Metal Clay

Description: Let your naughty inner pyromaniac come out to play! We create this fun, dimensional pendant in stages, intentionally using flame-shapes to build your own personal wearable element of fire. Each separate piece is cautiously shaped based on the layer below, incorporating as much open space as possible between licks of silver flame. This piece is deceptive, seeming simple, when in reality the thin structural parts of the fire are each incredibly delicate and tricky to handle. Once our little heart fires are fully sintered, we go back and apply gold to one layer, drawing attention to both the boldness of gold color as well as the abstract depths of the pendant layers. Selective use of deep patina adds additional shadow, while planned use of shiny textured silver adds brightness without overpowering the rest of the piece. The hidden bail allows for wear without impeding the design. 

Materials included in price: Art Clay Silver clay (15g), paste, and syringe; thick gold sheet, .999 bail back. Note: should the market price of silver rise above $75/ozt, a surcharge will be imposed.
