Description: In this one and a half day class, create this unique pendant using fabrication and mosaic making skills. Students will first use soldering and other metal techniques to put together a frame (silver or copper) to hold the amethyst slice and the mosaic. In the second part of the workshop, we will focus on creating a glass and bead mosaic to complement the stone. Techniques that will be covered are soldering, sawing, filing, metal finishing, prong setting, glass nipping, mosaic design and setting.
Materials included in price: Step by step color illustrated handout, copper sheet, copper half round wire, copper bezel wire, choice of an amethyst slice, beads and glass for the mosaic, consumables (adhesive, grout, solder, flux, fuel). (Upgrade to silver will be available in class.)

Time: Day 1, 1:30 - 4:30pm
Day 2, 9am - 4pm (1hr lunch break)
Instructor: Kaska Firor
Skill Level: Intermediate, must have previous soldering experience.
